Saturday Morning Giveaway

By on 3-27-2010 in Competitions / Contests

Goooood morning peeps,
Its Mr G here with a giveaway (with a delay),

Things have been tricky this week, with sending artworks to Hong Kong for Petit Morpho’s exhibition and the hospital appointments for Suzanne, and its not gone smoothly at all.
At the first appointment : Locked Keys in Cars while dropping her off at the reception, leaving my car in a no parking zone (drop off), this led to a recovery vehicle coming out and breaking into my car. Deep Joy, by the time the car was open Suzanne had finished and we started a very painful drive home.

At the second appointment the following day: Car park full as per usual, it was a different hospital this time so I managed to find a space, get parked and get Suzanne to her appointment. It was running 1 hr late and we ended up in a room where she could lie down to avoid pain for near 2 hours before we were seen. We returned to the car to find a parking ticket. I did not understand as it is free to park in hospitals in Scotland. Then after looking around I realised I had parked in Staff parking.

The Next Day Shopping: Get out car, close door, lock it, Key catches in lock and I bend it. It didnt snap so already things are looking up.. Oldest Suzette is deeply amused by it, I offer to assist his fitness by leaving him to walk home. He is not amused.
So shop done back in car, drive home. Turn off car, can’t get key out of ignition…bent key stuck.

That is Mr G’s guide to the end of last week, pretty rough really… so here goes the theme for this weeks giveaway,
“Make me feel better by telling your unfortunate events of a minor irrating level”

  1. well we had planned a lovely romantic weekend away and as we went to set off yesterday the clutch in the car gave way 🙁 So now stuck at home with no transport until wednesday and no romantic weekend away 🙁
Cant even get to the shop as buses are not good on saturday so will have to cheer us up with a chinese. Better than nothing i suppose

  2. I found the most gorgeous scruffy doggy at the side of a busy road in the week. This is good as I took her back to her owner, thinking from the state of her that she had been missing for weeks…when returned the owner said she had only just gone missing 10 minutes ago! They said if she doesn’t settle they’ll let me know & I can have her. But I can’t stop thinking about her & just want to keep her, bath her & love her….This is my unfortunate & very annoying event, maybe it will have a happy ending!! x

  3. I just found out my friend, who’s over here from London working, has started seeing the most boring woman on the planet. He’s a wonderful lad with a lot to offer a lady and he’s wasting his time on someone who’s not going to appreciate him. Why are all the good guys always taken advantage of?

  4. Oh this sounds like horror!

Don’t know if this makes you feel any better but my irritation this week is how the house has turned out beeing alltime low on a dirty level, we’re not picky on having the house neat at all time, but now it has gone too faar. Hope we can leand away the kids for a day to relatives to get it better.. But I’m working easter.. yeah and one more thing, starting full time working again after part time maternity leave for a while.. And I manage to have to work every day this easter.. :S

  5. oh woe is me…….i woke up yesterday with a huge zit on my face!!!!…its so big i think it has its own orbit!!!! eek!!!

have a great day diane x

  6. after having a lovely 5 day holiday up north (Australia), came home to 1 child vomiting and high temps for the next 3 days other child with rash all over her.
Then went off to work to have my boss come get me a few hours later to tell me a tree had fallen on my car, didnt hit any other car just mine, on inspection was a tree branch with many other branches off it, not overly too much damage but enough to have to have the roof racks, windscreen, bonnet and 2 other panels replaced
oh well, sometimes it would of been easier to just have the whole tree fall and ride it off completley

  7. Hi there Mr G,
I live in the lovely Yorkshire Dales, I went up town, which was a huge mistake! Seemed like everyone decided to visit the market, anyway there is this guy who often stands on the High St going on about how great the Lord is, God is this and that, don’t get me wrong I don’t mind if anyone is in to religion but I don’t like it when they try to force it upon others like this guy does. Well as if having just this one guy isn’t bad enough, he’d only attacted another bloke but he was actually worse that the other!! In the end the police were called. I find this first guy irritating and we have exchanged words a couple of times when I’ve not been feeling great and having a not so good day.

The rest of my day was blinking great though!! I bought the new Gorjuss card making stuff, the whole lot and decided to buy two sets, one to stroke and look ant and one to use, well thats if I can make myself use them that is!! I do mean the whole lot, the decoupage, tags, box cards and every single one is GORJUSS!! Love em!

  8. My past week….
Monday, Kielie at ER. They say she has tonsillitis or strep, but it isn’t mono, phew. Drama with teen, related to her bf and prom, long story I shall skip.
Tuesday, Kielie no better hmm wonder what the results of culture ER took will tell us. Seems worse then strep. Maddie sniffling.
Wednesday, Kielie worse, maddie worse Call doctor office. Maddie has a cold, hard for a three yr old. Kielie possibly has mono, time to get blood work. hmm didn’t ER say it wasn’t mono it was either strep of tonsillitis? Mommy stressing from work, school, home issues, teen drama, sickie kids, hubby working 12 hours a night oh and it’s PMS week.
Thursday, kielie and maddie still sickie. mommy still stressing.
Friday, test positive for mono, teen drama conts. Maddie still sickie, mommy still stressing, hubby still working 12 hours a night.
Saturday??? Only time will tell, lol
Mr G. Sorry about your week!! You are one awesome hubby!!!

  9. My brand new wireless mouse and keyboard won’t work unless the receiver is touching them. So I’m using my spare computer in the utility room. What a pain to try to check my email and stuff before going to work. Probably wasn’t such a good deal after all.

  10. Mr. G, I am so sorry about yours and Suzanne’s week!!! I have to confess though, you had me laughing with your hilarious delivery, oh my goodness! Praying for some help for poor Suzanne’s pain. God bless you both.

I have locked my keys in my car at a gas station in pouring rain! Ugh, nooooooo fun at all.

Take care, Mr. G and sweet Suzanne.

    Love and hugs,
    Janeann xoxo

  11. I get to work Sunday night only to find out we’re going to be working 10 hour shifts until further notice. By Monday morning I’m exhausted. I get in the car and halfway home the car starts making some really bizarre noises and the instrument panel is lit up like a Christmas tree. I can’t decide if I should stop or try and get home. I keep going because I’d rather be stuck at home than the side of the road.

I get home and I find out I need a new distributor and power steering pump. Hubby scrambles to find parts. He gets the parts on only to find out they gave us the wrong distributo cap. Run pack to the parts store and get the right one. He gets in just in time for me to get to work.

That is my irritating moment of the week.

  12. Aaarrrggghhhh..what a bad week Mr G…here’s hoping the next week is much better!!

We have pay as you go here in Tassie for our electricity. It seems to be costing a bit so if it goes below $20 I go and get more credit put on. I handed over a $20 note and said please put that on. She hands me a receipt and the card and off I go. When I put the card in it registered $10, I thought that’s strange I gave her 20, checked the receipt, it said 10, so I was ripped off and I couldn’t prove it, so I am not amused!

  13. Oooh, who doesn’t love to complain? Hm… minor irritations eh… I’m not sure if this one is minor.

I’d been writing an essay a while ago, burning the midnight oil. I finished it at last in the early morning, but hadn’t proofread it yet. So I decided I’d wake up a little bit in the morning to do it. Set the alarm… but it didn’t ring for some reason. So I slept in, which meant I was late for class, and the deadline. Got on the bus, there were no seats, so I had to stand. There was the smell of musty rainboots, and the windows were all fogged… anyway, I had a hard time arguing it out with my prof.

Essay came back and the mark wasn’t too good. Figures, eh?

  14. Sounds like a fun week for you! (not)

Tonight we went out for tea, I was the last to get my meal (everyone else was nearly finished), then it was piping hot from the oven so I had to wait for it to cool down, and then it didn’t even taste nice. Pretty ordinary night out really 🙁

  15. oh goodness what a week, I have to agree with janeann though your delivery had me laughing so hard

Okay here is one, Locked keys in car, with hubbies, fingers smashed in door at the same time, HE luckly had his keys on him, they were in the same pocket as the hand that was shut in the door at the time, while pouring the rain had to come around and rummage through his pockets to find his keys all the while his fingers are still LOCKED in the door! was NOT a pretty site, and let me say you sure cant find them fast enough when something like this is going on, wound up losing 2 finger nails over this.

hope Suzanne feels better soon and your next week is MUCH better

  16. Ugh, I was talking to my mother last night about some minor electronic purchase I was considering, and she jumped *right in* before I even said what it was to say I couldn’t afford it.

  17. Last winter our family went to a winter vacation to ski…. We arrived on sunday evening and started making dinner. After 1 hour one of our kids got sick…. she had stomach flu. she went to bed… during the night our youngest girl who was 2,5 years at the time started to be sick to. We had only one bathroom and no washing mashine and hand to wash all clothes and bed sheets in the shower… every one got sick during this week and we ended up going home a day earlier…. not a fun vacation!

I am sorry to hear all your car troubles… I have also had a lot of car problems this winter…..
And I hope Suzanne gets well soon!
    Have a lovely saturday

  18. Ah, poor Mr. G. And here I was feeling pouty for being sick and stuck in bed this week.

But I have a car story to share… My hubby and I were new to our town and ventured over to the local shopping mall to have a look around. We came out to our car and put our purchases in the back seat. Then I noticed a hat in the back window. I said to my hubby, oh, your dad must have left his hat when your parents visited us. I didn’t know he had that kind of hat. That wasn’t my father-in-law’s hat. And apparently that wasn’t our car that I’d just unlocked and was about to drive away.

OUR car that looked exactly like this one was parked one lane over! Mind you, we’d moved 500 miles away from where we had originally bought our car and here we had discovered a “twin” with the same key. Well, we were certainly in a panic and shock and locked that vehicle back up and quickly went to our own.

  19. That sounds like a horrible week! Hopefully your car situations gets better! Also, hoping and saying a prayer for Suzanne’s recovery!

My bad story…well, I live in Canada. It’s March 27th and it’s still snowing!!! The geese have already started to migrate back from their winter vacations and are returning to daily snow and frozen ponds and lakes. They probably aren’t confused about it since they always manage to return to snow every year. And you’d think I’d be used to a delayed spring and summer since I’ve lived here my whole life…but NO! The birds are chirping outside my window and I keep picturing them sitting in greening trees with tiny flowers starting to bloom in the garden….instead those tiny birds are probably huddling in a tree cursing the blanket of snow that surrounds them as much as I am!!!
I’m going to include a wish for warm in my prayers as well today!!!

Thanks for the blog and giveaway Mr.G…send all our bests to Suzanne!
    😀

  20. A couple months ago I was having a real bad couple of weeks with my car. Every where I would go I prayed it would get me there and home again. There were times I had to lift the hood and jiggle this or that to get it started. I had to go get an allergy shot about 20 minutes away from my house. After trying for over 30 minutes I finally got the car started. I made it to the doctors and got my shot. I had left my car running while I ran in. I have a spare set of keys and left a key in the ignition. I thought great, I was done and started for home. I had just gotten on the bypass road which is a toll road and my car died on the ramp to the highway. I never did get it restarted that day. I ended having to have my car towed to my BIL house and it took six weeks to find what was wrong with my car. In the end it was just one stupid wire that had come apart leading to the computer module.

  21. Wow, heres the latest on my continuing mishaps for today.

Dropped a Suzette off at cousins for a party, figured I’d nip to the shops to pick up some nice yummies to make Suzanne smile, fill the trolley and get to checkout, now I had checked I had my wallet, it was deffo in my pocket, but when asked to pay, it turns out to be my phone.
No Wallet, £25 in cash in my pockets, bill £56, look on my face: Priceless..

I am now staying in home under a duvet till this bad spell passess..

ps. Got home and Suzy not feeling well so all the yummies would have been a waste… phew. (silver lining)

  22. The pollen and stuff are really acting up here, so I’ve had a sinus migraine all week. Then my daughter came home, and she wasn’t feeling well. I took her to the dr today, and they doubled our co-pay. So I said thanks, but no thanks. Because thats not right, we looked and its not supposed to be doubled, but the irritating secerary lady just wouldn’t listen. She was all “Urgent care is a specialty”. LOL Urgent care is not a specialty. So thats my annoyingness this week. A woman who doesn’t know her job (she was calling people to com ehelp her) and then treats you like your a moron. LOL end rant. Its just been a bad week.

  23. I think the most irritating thing of a minor nature was my husband telling me two weeks ago that I was going to the dentist (he is my caretaker- schedules appointments to drs , takes good care of me)
Then he looked at me straight in the eye and said I hve to keep my mouth shut. He didn’t bother to tell me they were taking a panoramic xray of my
mouth to determine where the dental implants should go.
Now Iask you Suzanne, if Mr. G told you you had to keep your mouth closed would that not irritate you?
    lol

  24. OH MY GOODNESS MR. G..I DON’T KNOW WETHER TO LAUGH OR CRY FOR EVERYONE AND EVERTHING CONCERNED..

AWE KEEPING SUZANNE IN MY PRAYERS..WISHING FOR A SOLUTION TO TAKE THIS PAIN AWAY..

MY STORY…ABOUT 4 WEEKS AGO DHUBBY AND I WERE COMING HOME FROM SHOPPING AND DHUBBY HAS THE CAR RUNNING AND LEAVES THE KEYS IN THE CAR, AND LOCKS THE CAR….I LOOK AT HIM AND I SAY YOU REALIZED YOU JUST LOCKED THE CAR WITH THE CAR RUNNING AND THE KEYS IN THE CAR..AND LOOKS AT ME..OMG..NEVER DONE THIS ONE BEFORE..HAD TO GO UPSTARIS TO THE CONDO FOR THE EXTRA SET…FOR SOME REASON AT FIRST THEY DIDN’T WORK..COULDN’T GET THE DOOR OPEN..SO NOW HE IS SHAKING THE CAR..AND THE ALARM GOES OFF..MY SET DIDN’T STOP THE ALARM RIGHT AWAY..TOOK A FEW SECONDS..OH GEE THE NEIGHBOURS WERE NOT HAPPY..
FINALLY ALARM STOPS AND NOW CAN OPEN THE CAR..HE TURNS TO ME AND SAYS GOOD THING FOR THE SECOND SET..UMMMM MAYBE DON’T LOCK THE KEYS IN THE CAR TO BEGIN WITH UNTIL WE HAVE UNLOADED THE GROCERIES..LOL…LOL…

TO ALL HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND.
LOTS OF LOVE AND BIG HUGS EVE

  25. Sorry to hear things have a been a little hectic for you all lately!Seems like it happens all at once sometimes! My DH has been a “victim” of locking said keys in car numerous times.

One time he jammed his door and had it all messed up so me being all helpful figured I could fix it. Took the screwdriver out and was trying to force it and slam it and make it work. I was determined yanno! nothing was working – so I make a call to see if I can find some help – turns out it was just a simple matter of lightly pushing on the latch to make it go back. Who knew ya didn’t have to use force lol

  26. Sorry to hear you’ve had such a bad week Grant, hope things improve. As for a small irritation….a while ago when we were still using videos to record from tv, I set it up to tape a film I really really wanted to see….Yep, you’ve guesed it…..programmes ran late and I missed the ending.

  27. I have locked the keys in my car, while it was RUNNING! Then had to beg the locksmith to please hurry before the car ran out of gas! Pitiful, I tell ya!

  28. Oh dear! Wishing you all a better week this week 🙂

My only mishap this week being i came home from work Thursday afternoon and since it had been a beautiful warm sunny day all day i left the sunroof open on the car planning to go out and close it later…..well guess what happened? Yep it started to rain and i forgot the sunroof was open….

    Oops!
