Hi My name is Holly Kitaura and I live in Honolulu Hawaii
Tell us about what you make & your inspiration?
I have been painting and drawing as long as I can remember. My inspirations come from my island Home. For some reason our colors seem brighter and the life style is laid back and quite fun.
What is your favourite item to make/sell ?
I don’t have a favorite subject to paint. It could almost be anything that makes me smile. My art is more about the process than the end result. I usually set aside several hours in the day to paint in my studio along with the company of a few geckos. It’s a quiet place that overlooks a tropical garden of fern and heliconia flowers.
Do you have any favourite Etsy items you’ve bought?
Etsy has been a blast as well as a learning experience. I am just getting the hang of selling my work online. For the past fifteen years I have been pounding the pavement and working with galleries. I sell my work in over twenty locations in the Hawaiian islands and some on the mainland as well.
Do you have any other websites people can find you?
My favorite purchase on Etsy has been a maze pendant from loosewirestudio, She custom designed a pendant to hold a shard of glass I found while traveling in Italy. I also adore all of my treasures form the wonderful artisans on Etsy.
Whats the best advice you’ve ever been given?
The best advice I’ve ever been given was…A big display sells BIG. I’m still working on that and probably always will. The best advise I would pass on… Don’t take criticism personally and just have fun!
